How to Create a Blog App
A blog app lets you publish articles and posts on your Zemers store. You can keep posts public to attract visitors and help with SEO, or make them members-only so they become part of a paid product.
This guide shows you how to create a blog app, configure its settings, add posts, choose a layout, and make it available to your audience.
Before you start
You need:
A Zemers account with an active subscription
A store handle
A name for your blog app
A short headline that describes it
At least one post idea to publish
Step 1: Open the Apps page and choose Blog
From your Zemers dashboard, go to: Apps
Click: New App
Zemers asks what type of app you want to create. Choose: Blog
A blog app gives you articles and posts with public or members-only visibility. This opens the app creation wizard.
Step 2: Add your app content
The first step of the wizard is Content. Here you set how your blog app looks and what it is called.
App thumbnail and media
Add a thumbnail image, and optionally a video link, for the top of your app page. This media is optional but recommended, it makes the app feel more complete.
App identity
Complete the following fields:
App name: the name of your blog (up to 30 characters)
App slug: the URL for your blog app page, auto-generated from the name but editable
App headline: a short tagline (up to 60 characters)
Description: a short explanation of what your blog is about (optional)
For example, your app page link will look like:
www.zemers.com/@yourhandle/a/your-blog-slug
When you are done, click Next.
Step 3: Configure settings
The Settings step controls how your blog behaves and who can see it.
Basic settings
Default content order: how posts are sorted on the app page
Language: the language of your content
Categories
Choose 1 to 2 categories that best describe your blog. This is required.
Visibility
Choose who can see the app:
Everyone: anyone can open the blog app page
Members only: only you and customers with access can open it
No one: the app page is disabled while you work on it
Linked products
Optionally link this blog app to one or more products. Customers who buy a linked product get access to members-only posts. You can also attach the app to products later.
Click Next.
Step 4: Add blog posts
The Blog Posts step is where you create the articles inside your blog app.
Click Add post and complete the post fields:
Title: the post title (up to 60 characters)
Headline: an optional subtitle
Post link: the URL slug, auto-generated from the title
Excerpt: a short summary shown in post lists (optional)
Featured image: the thumbnail for the post
Add content sections
Instead of one long text block, you build each post from content sections. Click Add section and choose a type:
Text: rich text, headings, lists, and links
Image: a single image
Video: YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, or other supported links
Carousel: a slideshow of images and videos
Divider: a horizontal separator
Created by: a creator attribution card
You can reorder sections after adding them.
Post visibility
For each post, choose its visibility:
Public: anyone can read the post
Members only: only customers with access can read it
Toggle Publish when the post is ready. Unpublished posts stay as drafts and are not visible to your audience.
Add as many posts as you want, then click Next.
Step 5: Choose your blog layout
The Layout step controls how your posts are presented on the blog app page. Choose one:
Grid / Focus: an article grid only. Dense and browsable, with a minimal hero.
Editorial: hero plus a featured article plus a grid. A classic, content-first layout.
List / Journal: a vertical list with small thumbnails. Compact and minimal.
You can change the layout anytime later.
Click Finish to create your blog app.
Step 6: Make your blog available
After the app is created, you land in the Manage App view, where you can keep adding posts and editing settings.
How customers reach your blog depends on visibility:
If the app and its posts are public, anyone can open the blog app page from your store.
If posts are members only, attach the blog app to a product so buyers receive access. Open the product, go to Apps & Access, and add this blog app under Included Apps.
Where your blog appears
The blog app page on your storefront lists your posts
Individual posts open at their own link
Public posts can also help your store rank in search engines
Members-only posts are visible by title but readable only with access
Publishing checklist
Before sharing your blog, make sure:
App name and headline are clear
At least one category is selected
Visibility is set correctly (Everyone for a public blog)
Each post you want live is marked as Published
Post visibility (public or members only) is correct
The app is attached to a product if posts are members only
What if something is not working?
Your blog app page is not visible
Check the app visibility. If it is set to No one, the page is disabled. Change it to Everyone to publish publicly.
A post is not showing up
Make sure the post is Published and not left as a draft. Archived posts are also hidden.
Customers cannot read members-only posts
Confirm the blog app is attached to the product they purchased, under Included Apps.
